EBEC COIMBRA

10, 11 and 12th of March

EBEC (European BEST Engineering Competition) is a 24H engineering competition that is totally free and open to all FCTUC students in which they are challenged to solve real life problems assigned by companies and to develop their soft/hard skills.It has two distinct categories: Case Study and Team Design, a theoretical and a practical format, respectively.

During the competition the students will be in direct contact with company members and university professors that will support and aid the teams in order to help with their problems. In the end, the participants will present their projects on 12th March, at "Ordem dos Engenheiros" to a jury constituted by Engineers, Professors and Students, that will pick the winner in each category.

The competition is open to all students that are enrolled in FCTUC.

To whom?

The competition, meals and host are totally free, but we have limited spots!

Expenses?

The competition will take place at the Department of Electrotechnical and Computers Engineering(DEEC) and at the Department of Informatics Engineering (DEI) at the University of Coimbra.

Location?

Bring your sleeping bag because you will have a long way until you reach a solution! We will provide mattresses and host inside of the departments.

Accommodation?

Besides Coffee Breaks , BEST Coimbra will also provide the dinner on 10th and 11th and lunch on 11th.

Meals?

The competition will last 24H and the students should be within the premises until they deliver the final project.

Duration?

Registrations have open, you can sign up now! Create a team of 4 elements and prepare yourself. For the registration we will need the updated CV of all the members of the team!

Prizes?

The category of Team Design consists in the creation of a prototype that solves a problem assigned by a company. It´s a practical problem and the students have a limited amount of materials that they can use.

Team Design

The category of Case Study consists in solving two theoretical problems assigned by a company, the students have to find achievable and efficient solutions that are applicable on a daily basis to solve those problems.
